Unconventional and effective identifies Brentwood's newest business owners Heather Chandler and John Kressaty. As much as they know and understand skincare, it is no surprise that you will experience unique coffee blends direct from Zimbabwe as well as sweet and savory crepes under the same roof!
As a natural extension of their Tuscan-inspired cosmetic boutique The Skinbar, Heather and John have recently opened The Perch in an effort to create an atmosphere of balance with an international flavor.
"Growing up in Brentwood and returning as a business owner, it is so refreshing to experience the revitalization of downtown Brentwood," said Heather. "The Skinbar and The Perch are a great addition to the neighborhood."
But it is education that continues to be cornerstone for The Skinbar's success. Heather and John bring a combined 40 years of expertise in providing superior skincare and personalized attention to their clients. Heather, an aesthetician and makeup artist, creates luminous skin with products from Osea, SkinCeuticals, LaRoche Posay and Sanitas. Brow shaping has become her specialty. Using vegetable dyes to define a brow or to enhance eyelashes has been quite popular. The Skinbar makeup artists are available for consultations and special event applications using products from Hourglass, Smashbox and Paula Dorf. In an effort to keep up with their ever-growing clientele, they have added two new treatment rooms and a collection of exclusive items including Alex and Ani expandable bracelets, Nest candles and Starr Luna tees to name a few.
John, a cosmetic chemist, formulates his products in an on-site lab for physicians and companies around the world. "Our hope is that when our customers come here, they feel relaxed and unrushed," said John. "Life seems to be moving faster than ever and we want this to be an oasis away from all of that."
Everything you find at The Skinbar and The Perch is unique. The couple's extensive travel - from Italy to London and Hong Kong to Dubai - has afforded them the opportunity to experience innovative skincare as well as exotic and international flavors. It's the same reason The Perch offers Leopard Forest coffee from Zimbabwe, grown using sustainable farming and fair trade, as well as various organic teas from Two Leaves and a Bud. Hand crafted crepes made to order...will it be nutella and strawberries or an artichoke, baby spinach and havarti? Sweet or savory delights can be enjoyed in this rustic yet urban locale. Take one to go or just hang out amongst friends.
Oh, and yes, Wi-Fi is on the house! |
